Your friendly non-auditioning community choir is now very busy rehearsing for our Summer Concert on Saturday 1 July, at 7.30 pm in St John’s Church, Harleston, when we’ll be singing Haydn’s Stabat Mater and Mozart arias and opera choruses, plus Zadok the Priest, in the spirit of the Coronation on 6 May.  Tickets (£15, to include a glass of wine or a soft drink; accompanied children go free) will be available on the door on the night, from choir members and from Harleston Information Plus.  Our Autumn Term begins on Monday 4 September, 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start, and we’d love you to join us, in the London Road Church, Harleston IP20 9BH, under the direction of our Music Director Justin Bindley.  Further information about this and all our activities is on our website:  www.harlestonchoralsoc.org.uk or from our Chair Stella Brownsea at heidihouse@btinternet.com  

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2023 Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2)

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to Anglian Water service pipe works the use by vehicles of the U76019 Wood Lane from 220m southeast of its junction with A140 Ipswich Road for 50m south-eastwards in the PARISH OF PULHAM MARKET will be temporarily prohibited from 21^st to 23^rd June 2023 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 3 days within the period. If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 5 days.

Alternative route is via: Wood Lane, A140 Ipswich Road, Stoney Lane, Colegate End, Colegate End Road, Common Road (Pulham Market, Tivetshall, Wacton).

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 15^th to 16^th June 2023 for the duration of the works expected to be about 2 days within the period.

Alternative route is via:  Station Road, Semere Lane, Ipswich Road, Tivetshall Road, Tattlepot Road, Bank Street, The Green (Pulham Market, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Tivetshall).

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 16^th June to 17^th July 2023, only while signs indicating the closure are in place, for the duration of the works expected to be about 32 days within the period.

Alternative route is via: A140 Ipswich Road/Norwich Road/Ipswich Road, A146 Lakenham Road/Barrett Road/Trowse Bypass/Loddon Road/Norwich Road/Loddon Bypass/Beccles Road/Norwich Road, A143 Yarmouth Road/Broome Bypass/Bungay Road/Old Railway Road/Bungay Road/Harleston Bypass/Brockdish Bypass/Scole Road/Bungay Road/Lower Street/Bungay Road/Scole Stuston Bypass, A140 Scole Bypass/Dickleburgh Bypass/Ipswich Road/The Street/Norwich Road/Ipswich Road (Gillingham, Newton Flotman, Ashby St. Mary, Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley, Kirby Bedon, Scole, Swainsthorpe, Yelverton, Hales, Wortwell, Chedgrave, Framingham Pigot, Loddon, Sisland, Redenhall with Harleston, Needham, Ellingham, Pulham Market, Alburgh, Saxlingham Nethergate, Dickleburgh and Rushall, Denton, Tivetshall, Burston and Shimpling, Brockdish, Holverston, Earsham, Wacton, Brome and Oakley, Hellington, Trowse with Newton, Bungay, Stoke Holy Cross, Stockton, Stuston, Broome, Kirby Cane, Tasburgh, Long Stratton, Keswick and Intwood, Thurton, Ditchingham).

The service is being reviewed as part of a wider review of bus services for September 2023. Proposed changes:

invites you to join us for our monthly talk, on Wednesday 17 May at 2.00 pm in St John’s Church, Harleston IP20 9AZ.  Our speaker is Ben Witchell, Director of the Flint Vineyard near Bungay, which he founded in 2016 after completing a degree in oenology and viticulture in Sussex and then learning the winemaking ropes in France, California and Greece.
